Senior Prom
This year, we're taking prom to a whole new level—literally! Get ready to set sail for an unforgettable evening aboard a stunning boat cruise as we celebrate Prom 2025 in style. With the city skyline as our backdrop, the dance floor rocking, and the stars above, it's the perfect setting for a night full of glamour, laughter, and lasting memories. From elegant dining to capturing those picture-perfect moments with friends, this is more than a dance—it's a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Dress to impress and get ready to cruise into the night!
CTE Trip: Costa Rica!
Green Travels will be taking a number of students to Costa Rica in order to learn more about its rich biodiversity and ecological importance. Through active engagement with hands-on activities, authentic cultural exchanges, and guided tours, our students will practice sustainable tourism and contribute to wildlife conservation efforts!
Students who applied and qualify for this year’s trip will receive communication from the trip coordinator, Candy Gonzalez.
Midwinter Recess
The Green School will be closed from February 17th to February 21st. Spring Semester will resume on Monday, February 24th. Happy Break!

Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) Trip
We will be taking 200+ students to the Brooklyn Academy of Music to share a schoolwide experience with students and staff on February 12th, 2025! Please check your GAMA messages for updates about this trip. Students will receive lunches in advance and travel by bus to and from the event. We look forward to sharing this experience with you all!
Lunar New Year, Schools Closed
The Green School will be closed in observance of Lunar New Year.
Staff Professional Development Day
Students will not report to the building on Monday, January 27th. Instead, staff will be meeting for Professional Development that will continue to support the school’s vision and mission as we head into the new Semester.

Staff and students have off on this day.
Last day of classes for Semester 1!
Students will have off on the 20th, followed by Regents (1/21 - 1/24). As such, this will be the last day for students to demonstrate evidence of learning for the first Semester. Grades will be published and finalized before second Semester.

Winter Recess
The Green School will be on Winter Recess starting Monday, December 23rd and ending Wednesday, January 1st. Students and staff report to school on January 2nd.

Students enrolled in our Dance Program will watch performances showcasing different dance styles to inform their own choreography development at school.

Broadway: The Notebook
Students and chaperones will be attending an evening production of The Notebook to further their knowledge of genre and engage in enrichment opportunities outside of the school building.

The Green Garden will be hosting our first Haunted Harvest on the corner of Amsterdam and 84th this Halloween. Stop by for festivities including face painting, a costume contest, a spooky scavenger hunt, candied apples, and more!

Spirit Week: Thrilling Thursday!
The last day of Spirit Week ends with a scare!
Come dressed to impress, and maybe terrify, some of your peers in a costume competition. Voting for scariest and most creative costumes will take place during lunch, with a winner announced at the end of the day. We look forward to seeing how creative and fun your costumes are!

Spirit Week: Pink Out Wednesday!
In support of Breast Cancer Awareness month, participants will wear pink clothing to show solidarity and raise awareness for breast cancer research and education.

Fall Garden Market Series
Join us in our school’s Learning Garden to participate in our Fall Garden Market Series, running every Thursday from 3:30 - 6:00 PM! Our students are launching their Fall Garden Program this year, and look forward to welcoming you in to share in their learning and joy in this very special space. Tie-Dye for Breast Cancer Awareness!
Join Student Council as we get ready for our Making Strides Against Break Cancer Walk by creating pink tie-dye t-shirts and socks!
We will have dye materials ready in Room 226 after school. Bring a friend and support a good cause!
